PhotoShelter is hiring a remote front-end engineer to help build our market leading digital asset management solutions that enable creative people to store, organise and share content, effortlessly and at scale.

We're looking for a self-starting, innovative and collaboration-oriented colleague to help us architect, build and improve large scale applications that our clients depend on daily.

We need someone with the enthusiasm and talent for creating solid, reliable, highly-polished UIs as we pride ourselves on the quality of our intuitive interfaces with a sharp, modern aesthetic.

We employ an iterative, product driven development method where everyone gets a say. We're agile and manage our work using a laid-back scrum process and encourage a lightweight, productive approach to development.

Qualities and skills sought

  • Solid technical experience building front-end solutions
  • A good fluency with a modern framework such as React, Angular or Vue, along with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
  • An understanding of building complex single-page JavaScript apps
  • Knowledge of cross browser compatibility, including mobile browsers
  • Ability to gather requirements and design, code and test independently
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a diverse, distributed team
  • Comfortable working in a UNIX-based environment (e.g. Linux)
  • The ability to empathise with busy creatives, photographers, content creators

  • OOP, memory management, data types, control flow and abstraction
  • Webpack and NPM
  • Upholding modern web accessibility standards
  • PolymerJS and web components
  • Server-side technologies (Go, PHP, Apache, PostgreSQL, Redis, Node.js) | server-side rendering tools (NextJS or Gatsby)
